Static Image Analysis
Static image analysis (SIA) processes individual particle images to determine size and shape distribution in a single measurement. Not just size — circularity, aspect ratio, convexity, and 31 more parameters.
Static Image Analysis (SIA)
In SIA, a camera captures particle images from a fixed position. Each particle is individually identified and 34 parameters are calculated. Unlike indirect methods such as laser diffraction, SIA yields true morphological data directly from the particle image.
BeVision Series
BeVision M1 and S1 are two complementary systems designed for different application needs. Both use the same SIA technology and 34+ parameter set.
Automated scanning system for filter cleanliness, film defect inspection and surface contamination analysis. Full 55 × 55 mm panoramic view. Compliant with ISO 16232 and ISO 4406.
Measures size and shape distribution of powders, granules, and suspensions. Available with biological or metallurgical microscope. Supports dry and wet measurement modes.
Particle size and shape measurement by dynamic image analysis. 0.5 μm–26 mm across the series, 37+ size and shape parameters. ISO 13322-2 compliant, test in about 3 minutes.
BeVision M1 Technology
A 12-megapixel CMOS camera combined with automated stage movement delivers repeatable, fast measurements for filter cleanliness and surface analysis.
BeVision Software
BeVision software visualizes size and shape results as histograms, scatter plots, and particle galleries. Reports export as Excel, PDF, and PNG.
Model Comparison
Both models use the same SIA technology. The difference lies in application focus and hardware capacity.

Applications
FAQ
Laser diffraction calculates only size distribution. Static image analysis photographs each particle individually and measures both size and shape: circularity, aspect ratio, convexity, elongation, and more than 30 additional parameters. SIA is preferred where shape information is required — pharmaceuticals, filtration, powder metallurgy.
If your application involves filters, film surfaces or ISO 4406 / ISO 16232 compliance, BeVision M1 is the right choice — it offers automated panoramic scanning. For powders, granules or suspensions in a general laboratory context, BeVision S1 is more appropriate and considerably more compact.
Both systems operate with very small sample volumes: a few milligrams for dry powders and a few drops for suspensions. Samples are prepared on microscope slides; the preparation step is quick and straightforward.
Both models comply with ISO 9276 (representation of results of particle size analysis) and ISO 13321. BeVision M1 additionally meets ISO 16232 (cleanliness of components of fluid circuits) and ISO 4406 (hydraulic fluid contamination classification).
BeVision software exports data in Excel, TXT and CSV formats, images as JPG / PNG, and full reports as PDF or Excel. Reports are customizable — logo, header, and parameter selection can all be configured. The complete measurement history is archived and can be re-analyzed without re-running the instrument.
