Online Particle Size Analyzer for Dry Powder Lines
The BT-Online1 integrates directly into dry powder production lines and operates 24/7 as a real-time particle size analyzer. It monitors 4 process lines simultaneously with one device, and requires no maintenance in industrial environments thanks to its dual air curtain and sheath gas lens protection.
Dual Air Curtain Technology
In industrial environments, lens contamination is the primary cause of optical system failure. The BT-Online1's patented dual air curtain and sheath gas technology creates an invisible air shield between the sample flow and the lens surface, preventing all dust contact.
Applications
Frequently Asked Questions
The BT-Online1 can monitor 4 different production lines simultaneously with a single device. This is particularly useful in cement plants, where raw grinding, kiln feed, clinker cooling, and cement mill lines can be managed from one centralized system — eliminating separate instrument investment and multiple maintenance contracts.
Laboratory analysis involves sampling, transport, and measurement — a process that can take 30 minutes to several hours, allowing only delayed response to process deviations. The BT-Online1 integrates directly into the production line and produces results every few minutes. This real-time data is transferred to the process control system so classifier speed or grinding parameters can be adjusted immediately, resulting in fewer off-spec products and lower energy consumption.
The BT-Online1 supports TCP/IP (Ethernet-based SCADA/MES integration), Modbus RTU (PLC communication via RS-485), and 4–20 mA analog signal output as standard. These three protocols enable direct integration with DCS or PLC systems in facilities with different automation infrastructures, as well as optional feedback control.
The BT-Online1's lenses are protected by patented dual air curtain and sheath gas technology based on aerodynamic principles. This system creates an invisible air shield between the sample flow and the lens surface, effectively preventing dust contact. IP65 protection provides additional environmental resistance; maintenance requirements are minimized and unplanned downtime is eliminated.
The flat chute sampler is suitable for free-flowing dry powders with broad particle size distributions and high line flow rates. The auger sampler provides more accurate representative sampling for fine, narrow-distribution, and cohesive powders or low-flow lines. Contact our technical team for application-specific guidance.
Accuracy is specified as ≤1% (based on the D50 of a certified reference material). Repeatability is defined as ≤3% for GBRM D50 values. These figures are valid under demanding industrial conditions, including high-vibration environments.
