The Standard model uses a Si-PIN detector and is suitable for jewelry stores and pawnshops. The Plus model features an SDD detector with 2× higher sensitivity and lower detection limits. Refineries and assay offices typically choose the Plus model.
Yes. The Aurora 900's fully shielded sample chamber guarantees zero X-ray leakage during analysis. The system is CE and RoHS certified. The tube only activates when the chamber lid is closed; opening the lid immediately stops emission.
The software algorithm analyzes the elemental distribution of the surface and sub-surface layers. If a gold plating is present, the inconsistency with the core material is detected and flagged. Gold-plated tungsten, silver, or base metal cores are identified immediately.
The benchtop Aurora 900 offers a fully shielded sample chamber and integrated camera for more controlled, precise measurements. The handheld Pi900E GOLD is designed for portability — counter-top use and field applications. Refineries and assay offices prefer the Aurora 900; jewelry stores often use both.
