Dry + Wet Measurement 34+ Parameters Biological & Metallurgical ISO 9276 SOP Support

BeVision S1 is a multi-purpose particle size and shape analyzer that applies static image analysis (SIA) to powders and suspensions. Its choice of biological or metallurgical microscope, combined with dry and wet measurement modes and 34-parameter analysis, covers a broad range of applications across pharmaceutical, ceramic, chemical, and mineral industries.

BeVision S1 — 34 Size and Shape Parameters

Measure Size and
Shape Together

BeVision S1 calculates 34 size and shape parameters in every measurement. Beyond particle size distribution, morphology, roundness, elongation, and contour concavity are all captured simultaneously.

📐
Size Parameters
Area-equivalent diameter (Dae), Feret diameters (min/max), Martin diameters, and Legendre ellipse axes — multiple size definitions from a single measurement.
🔷
Shape Parameters
Circularity, aspect ratio, compactness, elongation, and roundness — selectable from 11 different algorithms. Parameters are chosen based on application requirements.
🌊
Contour Concavity
Concavity, convex hull ratio, and solidity parameters quantify surface irregularity, distinguishing smooth spherical particles from irregular or agglomerated ones.
BeVision S1 — Analysis Software and Reporting

Visualized
Results

BeVision software generates histograms, scatter plots, and cumulative curves. Measurement history is stored; SOP settings can be saved so that the same sample can be re-analyzed from the image archive without re-scanning.

📊
Statistical Analysis
D10, D50, D90, mean, standard deviation, skewness, and kurtosis values are calculated automatically. Distribution plots for each parameter can be displayed independently.
📋
SOP and Re-analysis
Standard operating procedures are saved within the software. Stored image archives can be re-analyzed with different parameters — no need to re-prepare or re-scan the sample.
📄
Customizable Reports
Reports are exported in PDF and Excel formats. Logo, header, parameter selection, and chart layout are all configurable by the user.

About BeVision S1

With the biological microscope option, the range is 0.3–4,500 μm; with the metallurgical option, 0.1–2,700 μm. Resolution can be optimised by selecting the appropriate objective lens (4×, 10×, 40×, or 100×) combined with 40× digital magnification.

The biological microscope works with transmitted light, making it suitable for transparent or semi-transparent samples such as suspensions, emulsions, and biological materials. The metallurgical microscope uses reflected light and is preferred for opaque powders, metal particles, and ceramics. The measurement range also differs between the two configurations.

Yes. BeVision S1 handles dry powder samples directly on a slide as well as wet suspensions prepared as thin slide preparations. Both methods yield the same 34-parameter dataset, allowing direct comparison between measurement modes.

A saved standard operating procedure (SOP) locks in the image acquisition and analysis settings for a given sample type. When re-analysis is needed, the existing image archive is used instead of re-scanning — different analysis parameters can be tested without preparing or measuring the sample again. This significantly reduces time during method development and validation.

The S1 is a versatile system for powders, granules, and suspensions; its compact design and biological microscope option make it well suited to general laboratory use. The M1 is purpose-built for filter cleanliness, film inspection, and surface contamination — featuring automated scanning mode, a larger 55 × 55 mm scan area, and a 12 MP camera.
