Particle Size & Shape Analyzer
Combines laser diffraction with the PIC-1 dual-camera dynamic image analysis module in a single platform. Measures particle size and 24 shape parameters simultaneously from 0.02 to 3,500 µm. Wet and dry dispersion modules provide full flexibility for any sample type.

Laser Diffraction System
A 92-detector array with Mie and Fraunhofer optical models delivers fast, repeatable particle size distributions across a wide angular range. Covers 0.02–2,600 µm; extended to 3,500 µm when the PIC-1 module is active.

PIC-1 Dynamic Imaging Module
The PIC-1 module captures high-speed particle images during measurement and combines morphology data with laser diffraction results in a single report. Runs simultaneously with laser diffraction or independently.
Modular Dispersion Units
Dispersion units are selected by sample type, solvent compatibility, and volume requirements. Switching between units is done from the software in a single step.
Software
An ISO and GMP-compliant platform that streamlines the entire workflow from sample preparation through data analysis and report generation.

Application Areas
Frequently Asked Questions
Laser diffraction covers 0.02–2,600 µm. With the PIC-1 dynamic imaging module active, the total range extends to 3,500 µm. A single instrument therefore covers fine particles through to the coarse-fraction tail.
Laser diffraction (LD) delivers volumetric size distributions rapidly and with high repeatability but does not directly measure particle shape. Dynamic image analysis (DIA) captures individual particle images and quantifies morphology as 24 shape descriptors. The Bettersizer 2600 Plus applies both techniques in the same measurement and combines them in a single report.
Wet: BT-812, BT-80N Pro, BT-80N, and BT-814. Dry: BT-912 and BT-903. The appropriate unit is chosen based on sample type, solvent compatibility, and volume. Switching is done from the software without tools.
PIC-1 measures 24 shape descriptors including length, width, equivalent circle diameter, aspect ratio, circularity, convexity, sphericity, and compactness. Results appear alongside laser diffraction size data in the same report.
ISO 13320 (laser diffraction), ISO 13322-2 (dynamic image analysis), USP <429>, and 21 CFR Part 11 (electronic records and signatures). This compliance scope enables direct use in pharmaceutical GMP environments.
